Well, I think we can safely say that much has happened since my initial (and rather inadequate) blog post. I am OFFICIALLY a Mrs! Hard to believe myself, but on June 2, 2012 I retired my last name in exchange for a new one and can now call myself a Littleton. Eeek! The whole day was a whirlwind, but it was truly the greatest day of my life thus far and it was such a blessing to celebrate it with those I love most in this world. The day started off with SO.MUCH.RAIN. I know they say that rain on your wedding day is good luck and all, and if that is true then Rob and I are going to be swimming in good luck until we are old and gray (can we pause for a quick 'aww' :)), but come.on. Suffice it to say the outdoor wedding I had spent months, and months planning was not going to be happening. However, life has a funny of helping you out when think everything's gone wrong (okay, yes, Alanis Morisset's song was running through my head while I wrote this, don't pretend like you don't love this song too) and I ended up LOVING having our ceremony inside. Our photographer was also able to capture the most unreal photo's which I will share below :)
We planned our Honeymoon in Hawaii (my first time) arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth, and if you've never been I would put it on your bucket list because it is truly worth visiting (if for no other reason than to brag that you did indeed survive the 12 hour flight). We spent the first 6 days in Oahu at the Ko Olina, the most gorgeous resort I think I will ever have the pleasure of staying at. We did many first for me, including swimming with dolphins (a surprise present from my new husband), horseback riding ( a rather ironic story that I will share in a later post), as well as climbing Diamond Head, a dormant volcano. The nine remaining days of our honeymoon were spent on Kauai where we spent more time relaxing and enjoying the many gorgeous beaches located on the island AND perhaps my absolute favorite activity- tour a popular 'hot spot' for Hollywood movies. Now, before you go putting on your judging hats and exclaim 'but how could that have POSSIBLY been your favorite?!?' allow me to explain.
I have had a long withstanding love-hate relationship with dinosaurs (please keep your snickers to yourselves), and my absolute favorite movie of all time is Jurassic Park. As a child I played the theme music for the song on repeat (which back then
involved re-winding and re-playing the movie over and over again), much
to the dismay of my parents. This movie thrilled and terrified me and I could not get enough of it. My favorite, and most hated, scene was when the audience was finally allowed their first gimps of the all powerful T-Rex (you know the scene). As a result of watching, and re-watching this scene I soon became weary of my backyard and had convinced myself that a T-Rex or Rapter was bound to come gallivanting out of our swamp, knock over the big maple tree located just outside my window and knock it onto my bedroom roof and happily eat me. Not long after that did I convince my parents to switch bedrooms with my infant sister (yep, I did it) so that the safety of streetlamps would deter the dinosaurs. So, imagine my surprise, when 24 years later I was allowed the opportunity to conquer my childhood fears and stand in the EXACT location where the scenes from my nightmares took place. It was thrilling, and exhilarating, and maybe a tiny bit terrifying (ha) and so unexpected to find a small piece of my childhood a mere 5, 800 miles from home. Needless to say our Honeymoon is something I will not soon forget and I know in the future Rob and I will be visiting Hawaii again, perhaps with a few children along for the ride :)
Whew, moving on....life has more or less been the same since before the wedding aside from the fact that I am applying for my Masters in Education. Teaching has been a long forgotten dream of mine that I am officially ready to make a reality. So, fingers crossed that I receive an acceptance letter in the near future. Alright friends, I am officially blogged out. I'll be sure to write again soon!

A Whole New World...
Hello fellow bloggers! I am fairly new to this world of online writing as I have been an avid journal keeper since the age of seven, but I have decided to embrace the world of technology and give online blogging a shot. I'd like to use this blog to document my life in Boston with my fiance, Rob and our adorable 10 month old chocolate lab, Marley. Trying to make something of yourself in life is tough anywhere; I'm trying to navigate my way through the city of Boston and beyond to wherever life may take us. So, here will be entries of struggles, accomplishments, joy, sorrow, and everything else in-between. Enjoy!
